Counting Down to Day 16 (Day 113 out of 129) of the Middle Path Makeover – Crazy

I saw an interpretive dance performance in NYC tonight that depicted the craziness of one’s mind. It upset me in the beginning because I felt like I was watching a reflection of my own mind. But by the end it seemed like most people in the audience were upset. That made me feel better. 🙂

Crazy, right?

Counting Down to Day 17 (Day 112 out of 129) of the Middle Path Makeover – Planet Earth Day

Here are a few things you can do in honor of Earth Day:

1. Hug a tree. Literally.
2. Plant a tree.
3. Carpool or better yet, bike or walk to work if you can.
4. Eat locally grown, sustainable and organic foods.
5. The average American uses between 80-100 gallons of water each day. Try cutting your shower time in half and only flush the Number 2s! 🙂
6. See some garbage lying around? Contrary to public opinion, it doesn’t belong there. Pick it up and throw it in the trash.
7. Give packets of flower and vegetable seeds away as gifts.
8. Bring your own “to go” mug to your local coffee shop and skip the paper cups!
9. Read your favorite publication online instead of buying it off the news rack.
10. Take the time to read the recycling vs. garbage containers and make sure you tossing your shit in the right bin.

Okay, so the list is several longer than a few, but I hope that inspires you as much as it does me.

Happy Planet Earth Day Everybody!

Counting Down to Day 23 (Day 106 out of 129) of the Middle Path Makeover – Crushed Rose Petal Ice

Tonight I ate roasted beets on top of a herbed yogurt that sat upon a thin layer of crushed rose petal ice. Seriously, whatever drugs the artist/chef needed to create such a ridiculously unique and delicious concoction should be provided with a lifetime supply! I mean, holy beets Batman! How do you come up with this stuff???? If I stared at a beet and a pail of ice for the next month I wouldn’t be able to come up with this. I can’t believe how refreshingly mouth-watering this dish was and I’ve never had anything like it. I think I’m in love. 🙂

Keep on keepin’ on and keep it rosy,

Counting Down to Day 25 (Day 104 out of 129) of the Middle Path Makeover – Limitless

I don’t normally review movies, (actually, not once have I reviewed a movie through this entire Middle Path Makeover Project) but I thoroughly enjoyed Limitless starring Bradley Cooper and I highly recommend that you see this film.

First of all, I’m not a huge fan of Cooper; off-screen in interviews he has always come off as a cocky, try-really-hard-to-be-cool guy (albeit extremely easy on the eyes). His off-screen persona always carried its way on-screen (type casting??) and left a bad taste in my mouth… until now.

This film was brilliant. It was clever at every turn and I forgot I was even watching Cooper on-screen; yes, his character was that believable. No bad taste in the mouth. No gratuitous sex scenes (sex yes, gratuitous no). How refreshing! And so far I’ve managed to tell you absolutely nothing about this film! Pretty good, right? Still want to see it? You bet.

Hit me up here once you’ve seen it, I’d love to read all your thoughts 🙂
