About the Zenful Blogger

Leah Joy is a practitioner of the Soto-Zen Buddhist lineage for over 16 years and a teacher of dance and movement for nearly 20 years. She has traveled extensively throughout southern Africa and the United States studying dance, meditation and music while spending many years developing a working philosophy that integrates the breath aspects (Anapanasati) of the Zen Buddhist meditation practice and movement. She is the founder of Zenful Dance, a practice in compassion-based moving meditation, and her work is published both in print and online.  When she’s not blogging she can be found strategizing on her next big startup idea, listening to live Jazz somewhere in NYC, cooking good gluten free eats, practicing her French or enjoying a strong cup of joe in her neighborhood of Astoria, Queens with friends.
