When preparing for the unknown, how should we prepare? Asking around and interviewing folks about their experiences is great when preparing for something others have accomplished before, but what if I’m preparing for something else; something completely new? It’s possible to do. There’s always a first: Neil Armstrong was the first man on the moon. Lois Sarah Mellor invented rope. Laszlo Biro invented the first ballpoint pen.
Although I’ve never really been one to unearth an invention or discovery before anyone else, I do find newness whenever I sit down to meditate. Lots of first moments are there for me, even after all these years of practice. The newness is subtle, but quite noticible when I give my focused attention. And they’re my moments; the quality in some small way, unique. New.
What’s new with you?
